Lyle Northey (Silent/Boomer)

We are going to have a major crisis to overcome in the very near future. It is time to put the country back on its feet and start shutting some revolving doors that are allowing a few of our less than honest citizens to run everything into the dirt.

When did corporations become persons with voting rights, when did money learn to talk, why is it okay to bribe people in Congress and in the Supreme Court, and when did the division of church and state stop? All of these issues have been approved by the Supreme Court over time and since they are on a lifetime appointment changing things does not look like an option. So maybe we better change the appointment schedule. There are other issues that need to be changed as well, it seems that the Court recently passed an ethics bill and none of the things that would get them thrown out of the temple were considered bad. These are all supposed to be such good religious and righteous people, in a horse’s ass.

Every major problem we have today be it homelessness, gun violence, drugs, or anything else you care to name can be traced back to a stupid decision made by the members of the supreme court. They have allowed so many things to be convoluted into law that big business now buys outright or bribes openly officials that could make a difference and that is where money gets a voice. The drug companies, the oil companies, and anyone else that wishes to lie, cheat, steal, inflate, or misrepresent something and they have the money can simply grease a few palms and that is all it takes.

More and more efforts are being made to take away rights to vote, own property, get a good education, have access to health care or even read something that might be slightly controversial. It is okay to separate families if they are not white, it is okay to kill people if they are of a group that believes in something other than straight relationships, and the logic and reasoning for  hate and disenfranchisement become less reasonable for sane people and easier to support for those that find reasons to find other to be betheath them.

Each of us has worth no matter what we have done, it could be our value is a lesson is what not to do or be but it is worth something to someone. Far too often it seems the view we have of those that are different from us is taken as a view through the sights on a weapon rather than a picture on a postcard saying “Wish You Were Here”. The song says “From a Distance You Look Like My Friend” and given half the chance probably would be but we are shooting at one another so much for being friends. The sad fact is that most of the people do not know why they are fighting.. If you could figure it out as something other than just a couple of malcontents deciding to have it out and dragging everyone else in to the mess you could probably sell the movie rights for a small fortune.
