Has belief gone too far?

Lyle Northey (Silent/Boomer)

You know things are getting pretty much out of the realm of reality when even the comic strips start addressing the nation’s problems. The continued belief that the election in 2020 was rigged and stolen. If you want to look at elections that have been stolen, look at 2016 when the person that got put in the White House lost by over 7 million votes. That is very much a theft of an election.
So we have all the reality shows that focus on BigFoot, Aliens, and Ghosts, none of which can be proven by having actual evidence. People believe all that anyway, and while we are at it we can move to other unproven myths known as religion.
All of the minor myths are scary stuff to keep you awake at night or frighten children, but the last one is supposed to be true. The question is why is it any more true than the others, because books have been written about it, people have believed it and followed religious practices for centuries, what makes it different?
So God made the Heavens and Earth and has the power to destroy it all. According to the Bible he has done this at least once and the reason was not nearly as compelling as what is going on in the world today. Those folks were being a bit randy with lust etc, whereas today we have wholesale murder in the streets in places, the US being one.
We have people that are so sure they have the answers that everyone is to be brought to heel behind them and obey unquestioningly their brand of bull shit. We have a nation that is made up of 50 separate states that have lived for quite some time without the need to guard the demarcations between those states. We have nearly reached the point of having those lines guarded because of the absolute refusal of some state governors to cooperate with the federal government because their little hero did not make it into office. Each one of these rather juvenile individuals thinks he is a king in his own domain and does not have to answer to any authority because he is being prompted from the sidelines by that hero to be just as disruptive as possible to make things bad so that when the hero once more rises to power we can make it better and I will look so good. More Bull Shit.
The other issue with the religious aspect is that if God could destroy the earth or at least the creatures living on it and did so because they were being overly fond of one another why hasn’t he done it because we are killing one another. Think about it two world wars with the invention of the atomic bomb and the widespread ownership and use of guns today, killing not only those in Armies but children in schools, why has he not destroyed it all by now?
