What’s one small improvement you can make in your life?

The small improvement I could make in myself is to actually ask and accept help. I am overly prideful and do not like to accept any assistance even when I need it.

Share a story about someone who had a positive impact on your life.

Every person that has come into my life has had an impact, some positive and some negative. The realization of life and experience is that many times the person that may have been the cause of the most negative event actually had the most positive impact.

What does freedom mean to you?

I am torn between saying Freedom is a ‘misnomer’ or an ‘oxymoron’ a term containing elements which are inconsistent or in conflict. Why would I think that? I think and believe that because no freedom is free, there are to many people that whole hearty believe that their freedom is untethered and has zero consequences. The laws of physics state that every action has an equal and opposite reaction, that truth being constant freedom is not free. You have freedom until that freedom impedes another freedom. Here in the U.S. we have wider lanes to live our lives in that other countries but our actions still have consequences so that makes that notion of freedom a misnomer.

What public figure do you disagree with the most?

The list of public figures I disagree with is long but the root cause has never been more apparent.

What is your career plan?

JOB is an acronym for Just Over Broke I classify a career as Self imposed socioeconomic prison sentence that we have been programmed to believe is how are lives have to be defined.

I still remember the line from ‘Wayne’s World’ in the 80s when Wayne said ,”he had lots of careers which meant he had a lot of paper hats and name tags .”

I have had lots of JOBs in many different vocations but I would not say any one of them was a career.

What was the last live performance you saw?

To my best recollection it was Wicked in Chicago about 15 years ago… I don’t get out much 😢

What do you do to be involved in the community?

Sadly, none ever since my son graduated from high school. I really do not get involved in anything in my community.

What’s a job you would like to do for just one day?

This is a silly question. What job could you do for one day and actually accomplish anything if it’s the first time you ever did that job it seems insane to even query. What would you do if you could do it for one day because doing it for one day would be completely pointless.

What are your favorite brands and why?

I really don’t have any love for specific brands, I buy what works, fits, or tastes best to me. That being said I am hypocritical that I have an iPhone, Apple Watch, and a MacBook Pro but that’s because they have always worked best for me.

List the people you admire and look to for advice…

My Dad… he was in the Army when I was born and left military in 1968 because he did not want to be a  statistic in Vietnam. From 68 to 79 did every job possible to support a small family with 3 boys and in 1979 went back into the military because it was the best option to provide. At 79 years old having retired from the army he is one of the smartest people I know and not just book smart genuinely smart but always willing to learn.

He taught me that nothing is beneath you, you do what is necessary as long as it doesn’t hurt another. Also instilled in me the gift or curse of sarcasm and common sense.
