What major historical events do you remember?

I have lived through many historic moments from the Iran hostage situation to Reagan being shot to 9/11, but my favorite moment is the election of Barack Obama in 2008 I felt like the country actually had hope

I was bummed by the election. Not that I was against Obama. It was the first election I was old enough to vote. I was in basic training and we didn’t get to vote. Thankfully Bush got the military pay raise pushed through just before Obama took office.

That was at the cost of re enlistment bonuses. In 2015 I couldn’t even get a backpack. So when the NCO left to go print that contract. I stole a case of pens from his wall locker.

Remember, when Obama was in office only two out of the eight years that he had control of the house and the senate so for six years, the Republicans blocked everything he tried to do to support our troops and this country

I remember being thankful troops were utilized less during his administration. I guess Republicans are to thank for the massive push on using drones.

Nothing can be. It’s all Demopubican propaganda. The illusion of options. When truly no choice exists.

I was shocked we actually elected a black man. I read one of his books before he ran and was pretty impressed with him. He was a leader who had integrity and courage. It takes some pretty big cajones to break that glass ceiling.
