Esoteric Meandering Shouting Into the Void

I am astounded that the Republican Party continues to call themselves the Party of  Lincoln. Yes, he was technically the first of the Republican Party but prior to Lincoln this was the Whig party more a federalist party the competing party was the Democratic Republican Party that had North and South contingents, both of which had their own ideas about slavery and its expansion. Lincoln’s VP in 1864 was Andrew Johnson who was a Tennessee Democratic Republican who had stayed silent during the being of the Civil War and in my opinion the current Republican party more represents.

There are many obvious contradictions in the current Republican and the man they espouse to be steadfastly following.

• Lincoln wanted to maintain the Union and went to war to do just that.
  • Current Republicans seem to want to dissolve the Union.
• Lincoln proclaimed in his Gettysburg Address that line from the Constitution “that All Men are Created Equal” and by all accounts he meant it.
  • Can’t say that for the current party membership.
    • Voting down equal voting rights
    • Gerrymandering districts so that people of color are underrepresented.
• Lincoln instituted the first Federal income tax and the original IRS to fund the Civil War with a progressive tax.
  • Current House of Representatives under slim Republican majority first bill to the floor was to abolish the IRS and institute a 30% federal sales tax.
    • Am I the only one that thinks that is regressive and would destroy our economy?

I am sure that very few republicans today knew that the income tax was “their guys” doing. Well, I have news for you it was. 

The current Republican Party still spouts the sentiments that Ronald Reagan stated while he was sitting in the White House, “ What is the biggest lie spoken (We am here from the government and here to help.)” Their new motto may as well be, “Government is broken, elect ME and I will prove it.”

I don’t know why some run for public office that have zero faith that the institution works and have no intention on fixing what they say is broken. The only rationale I can come up with is celebrity and power and that isn’t no reason to seek public office.

So I say lets stop calling this batch of Republicrats Lincolns Party and call them what they are the Destruction or Dismantlement Party. They are not America First as they proclaim they are in it for themselves and the moneyed interests that fill their coffers.

  There is an ad on Canadian TV about a young man that is half White and half Native and how it is being caught in the middle. He feels that neither race is very concerned or caring about his situation, and he may be right as that is often the case in mixed race people. Rather than looking at it as being and outsider he would do much better to celebrate his difference and challenge the ones that are not mixed to reconsider their position.

  Native peoples in the America’s, and I suspect, all over the world have made a practice of claiming the high ground for their particular tribe. This in turn causes tribes to fight one another and one of the side effects of the fighting is usually the taking of women and children by one tribe to the other. Those others are so bad or whatever and yet they are good to raise as ours and great breeding stock to keep us from becoming idiots from inbreeding even if they did not know a thing about such possibilities. 

   White or black or brown or red all have done the same thing whether it be to take from an enemy or to create another slave that has been the way of the world. The problem is compounded by the bias of racial superiority and the resulting violence that comes from that bias. If we were not all human then the interbreeding would not be possible. 

  The tribal attitude is what brings about nations and all the nonsense that goes with that. Everyone has a little different outlook on almost every aspect of life and like mindedness is one of the things that create nations. We draw lines or put up walls or whatever to keep them out and then set up rules so that if one or two decide that the way of life in one place doesn’t suit we are able to move to another country and get on with our lives. Some of those rules are there to make sure no one comes to our country unless they have a skill we need or lots of money.

   The people that advocate the harsher rules should all be subject to screening to see if they would be able to cross the border if they were trying to enter the country.

These first few post are very random and appear to have little continuity, hence meandering. We are still finding our footing and this page may be more a stream of consciousness blog for awhile. Appreciate any input or discussion on anything posted so far.

The focus of so many that claim to be the righteous and the messengers or enforcers of God forget that our Constitution does not identify this nation as having only one God. The line is “Endowed by their Creator” not God. Let us again be a nation that welcomes all who seek freedom and that includes the freedom of domination by any group or organization that runs around spouting isms from a book written by men for men with a complete disregard for anyone else’s view save their own. The separation of church and state was not an accident. Our founders had seen the results of church states and they were determined not to make this country another victim of religious dictates. Roe vs Wade, gender issues, racial issues, the use of medications or science in treatments are all issues that religious groups have problems with and those problems are magnified when devotees are given the power to make the decisions for the rest of us. We have adopted the habit of swearing in someone with one hand on the Bible and yet if that person is not of that faith or does not believe in a higher being does it mean anything and if they do not tell the truth can you justly punish them? At present our higher beings are people that consider themselves as Gods and have no problem with shaping the nation as they see fit, those included are members of the Supreme Court, former President, and a good number of Governors of various states. Time to cut off Medusa’s heads and get back to common sense and the good of the majority not the minority.

I am trying to wrap my head around the systematic dysfunction that we are dealing with today. I remember in my early 20’s being in the Army and not having political fist fights with my contemporaries. Both parties at that time appeared to have similar goals, balanced budget, take care of the common good, infrastructure, defense, the difference was the method to get there. Granted we had a profoundly twisted ground swell of economics that was push by Reagan that the more benefits the wealthy and corporations received that that would trickle down to the masses.

This tickle down theory was not new but a rehash of the Horse and Sparrow theory that arose in the late 19^th century that said if you feed a horse enough oats what is excreted from the horse will feed that sparrows. That theory was thoroughly debunked by the robber barons getting richer while the rest starved and this gave rise to the unionization of America and the growth of the middle class. The rich were still rich but far fewer were starving.

The question is how has a entirely new generation been duped into believing that this actually works. Since the 1980’s we have seen the decline of the middle class, the consolidation of wealth to a few lucky families and huge operations almost the exact thing that happened in the early industrial area. History appears to be repeating itself and currently we have one party completely ignoring it actually pushing the narrative.

My question is what is it going to take to change this coarse? With media flooding the airwaves with this narrative and the masses turning a blind eye what has to happen for those that play the redneck retirement plan for buying lottery tickets to finally see that their children aren’t going to do better than they did. Many of my generation (X) are coming to the realization that we are not  doing much better than our parents and many are doing far worse.

So when did the wheels come off and can we hope to get them back on?

Dangerous Times

  Our nation is in a turmoil over who should be holding the reins of power. Many think that the election of 2020 should have been won by Trump and they seem to feel that they are allowed to push that position violently if they choose to do so. The group that attempted to overthrow the election and storm the Houses of Congress now feel that they should be given a free pass to avoid responsibility for their actions. At the same time they want to go on threatening any and all that do not support that position.

  The police have done little to prosecute these efforts, but then they too are under the watch as members of the police have been anything but true to the oath of office they took when becoming officers of the law. 

  Professional people should not carry their personal baggage to work with them. The moment you forget the value, the purpose or the focus of your career and place the weight of your opinion and prejudices on the implementations of that profession you have lost sight of the human value that drew you there to begin with. Doctors should not refuse to see the sick because they cannot pay the bill at this moment. Police should not target anyone because of race or color, age, gender or any other reason that has nothing to do with the crime that may have been committed.

   All this sounds good but the truth is that we are seeing more of the opposite with those professions as well as most others. Our religious beliefs should protect us from covering certain types of health insurance or selling products to people who have different lifestyles than mine. These are loopholes that get support from groups that believe they have a much better way to run the world than the one that exists. 

  Whether they be liberal or conservative they are still at the extreme ends of their views and though taking the time to listen to their view generally provides little of value letting them voice their view lets them know that you aren’t totally dismissive. Society has to be focussed on the many, not the few. The middle of the road may be crowded and the traffic is not moving very fast but it is where most people are. 

  What is happening on our streets is even more disturbing than the whining coming from the ends of the political spectrum. People are openly being harassed because of a different view. When Trump won there were many that did not agree that it was a good move but they did not threaten people because they had voted to elect him. Now that he is out of office his followers are targeting people that are working to rebuild the America that was torn down by Trump.

  The main point is that there are any number of countries in the world that have hoped and plotted to bring our country to her knees and destroy our way of life and now they are able to sit back and watch as we do it to ourselves by listening to the rantings of a man that has not made much of himself but a laughing stock of the world and a boot lickers to some of the more unsavory of the world’s current crop of despots. What possesses people to continue to follow has to be some sort of destructive wish or crainiel mimbalace. 

  Those that have actively tried to overthrow the government and those that are dangerous to others with a different point of view need to be dealt with quickly to secure the nation from further manipulation from beyond our borders

  Individuals that took part in the violence on 6 Jan have been elected to office and more are running. We are very near the destruction of our nation. The years and years of not being honest with the people and the obvious lining of pockets by the elected officials of this nation, along with other efforts on their part to give themselves an edge has brought about the cancer that is eating away at the very foundations of our liberty. Lies and liars have been matched with individuals that have made a lifetime career of spreading rumors and being deceptive to get one more ring on the merry go round. All the ugliness of the petty minds that have felt they have been cheated out of their place at the trowth are coming out, being displayed as devotion to the Pied Piper and we are surely headed to the edge of the cliff and into the ocean.

    The servicing of search warrants in Florida has been classified as a raid, the recovery of classified material has been dubbed as a set up. All of the gathering of information and evidence to prove or disprove criminal intent is a witch hunt. Trump is suing a news channel because they have repeatedly called him a liar and he claims that he has always been right. 

   People are so tired of the anger and beratings etc that no one will discuss any issues anymore. Like minded people may share their thoughts with one another but there is no public debate on issues that have polar opposite meanings in the political community.
