What is the most important thing to carry with you all the time?
I would say the most important thing I carry is a sense of humor because if you can find levity in the absurdity we live in you’re absolutely going lose your mind.

I already did a post about stupid bumper stickers, but I saw one today that I had to comment on. The quote covered the entire back window of an SUV…
‘I’m just a normal MOM’
‘Doing my best to NOT raise liberal children.’
I so badly wanted to chase her down and ask ‘WHAT?’
Here is a quote from JFK,
“If by a “Liberal” they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people-their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights and their civil liberties-someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a “Liberal”, then I’m proud to say I’m a “Liberal.”
― John F. Kennedy, Profiles in Courage
What that being my basis for what a liberal is I am wonder what kind of children that this person is raising… I suppose she wants her children to feel self-righteous and entitled with zero empathy for another. That’s awesome, just what the world needs more narcissistic bullies that only feel that they should have dominion over whatever they see fit to claim as their own.
This fits into the mentality that the ‘former guy’ has given license to. I heard a pastor talking about Christ Sermon in the Mount. Sermon on the Mount, a biblical collection of religious teachings and ethical sayings of Jesus of Nazareth, as found in Matthew, chapters 5–7. It teaches that God’s children are those who act like God. The teachings of the sermon are often referred to as the “Ethics of the Kingdom”: they place a high level of emphasis on “purity of the heart” and embody the basic standard of Christian righteousness.
One of the parishioners asked the pastor, where did you get that liberal crap from?
So I guess now the Moral Minority has decided that Christianity that is supposed to follow the teachings form the New Testament is too LIBERAL. The name’s sake of their ‘supposed’ faith was weak and his lessons that have been disseminated for 2 plus centuries is no longer the model they wish to emulate.
I am very confused that the people that profess themselves to be Christian but have non compassion for anyone be themselves. I will honestly admit that I do not follow a faith, religion is great organized religion is a farce only meant to fleece it followers.
These bearers of false witness claim that liberals are portraying Jesus as WOKE and that isn’t at all what is in the Bible… Not only was Jesus woke, but the gospels make it clear that He ministered in a way that showed that being woke meant serving, living and loving. And yet, Jesus never carried a billboard or led a political protest. He never incited any insurrection against the Temple or Roman rule or even spoke in overtly political tones. All he did do was flip over the money changers tables in the temple in opposition to the Pharises fleecing the people.
For all of those who don’t agree read the book that has been printed and translated more than any book in history… Jesus, as described by his disciples, was a sandal wearing, hippy socialist that hung out with a bunch of dudes and the infirmed. Absolutely wasn’t carrying an AR15 and screaming at those that disagreed with him.
This post probably pissed some people off and that’s ok. Just hope it made some recognize hypocrisy.
What change, big or small, would you like your blog to make in the world?
When I started the blog, the idea was to have three generations of authors, a Boomer, Gen X and a millennial so everyone had their view of topics based from their point on the timeline. So far my millennial has dropped out so I am looking for someone to contribute that is a millennial. The only points of view so far are from my father who was born in 1945 and mine born in 1967.
How have you adapted to the changes brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic?
I worked in hospitals for years so following infectious disease protocols was never an issue.

It is narrow minded and egocentric to just imagine an alternate reality for just yourself, unless all your imagined string of the infinite multiverse is that you have unlimited resources or were born into a different family or ethic group. Those things seem to me to be the only alternate realities that would not impact the whole of society.
If you are someone that believes that there are innumerable strings of reality. In physics, string theory is a theoretical framework in which the point-like particles of particle physics are replaced by one-dimensional objects called strings. String theory describes how these strings propagate through space and interact with each other. This in theory would create different realities on each individual string, some very similar and others very different.
The string that I would like to exist on is a string that in the evolution of mankind greed and borders were a concept that happened. In that reality mankind would understand that all life in this spinning blue ball was connected and war and prejudice are counterproductive.
The dystopian reality we live in has from the beginning pitted one against another for any number of reasons. Our current reality has spent uncounted resources on destroying others that share the same DNA structure but don’t share the same skin color or believe in the same deity. Image a reality where all those resources went to solve problems, cure diseases, lift up your fellow man instead of keeping them down.
That is the alternate universe I want to live in.

There are 2 commonly used words that are frequently used that those that use them do not seem to understand the difference… well they use one, but they really should be using the other. The 2 works are (TO) and (FOR)… Ok I just heard a WFT is he on about now from everyone that has taken the time to open my page.
Everyday I hear that the Republicans and their current messiah have do so much for this country… they have done more (FOR) civil right, women’s rights, the economy, the working class, and any number of things they want to claim dominion over. What they actually should be saying is they have done more (TO) all of the things I took the time to list and if they used the proper verbiage, they would be absolutely correct.
So, let’s define the 2 words.
Use ‘TO’ when the reason or purpose is a verb. Use ‘FOR’ when the reason or purpose is a noun.
To is a preposition and a versatile little word that can be used to say many things. You can use it to indicate a goal or a direction of movement, as well as a place of arrival. That’s the way you use it when you say you’re going to class tomorrow.
TO: a—used as a function word to indicate purpose, intention, tendency, result, or end
came to our aid; drink to his health
b—used as a function word to indicate the result of an action or a process
broken all to pieces; go to seed; to their surprise, the train left on time
FOR: a—used as a function word to indicate purpose
a grant for studying medicine
b—used as a function word to indicate an intended goal
left for home acted for the best
c—used as a function word to indicate the object or recipient of a perception, desire, or activity
Now that I have define the terms next time a Trumpubican tells you all the grand things that their dear leader did for the country you can tell them, ‘He honestly did them (TO) the country against our will not (FOR) us.’ His attempted insurrection was not (FOR) anyone but himself it was (TO) take away the rights and will of the people. When the Republicans ban abortion it is not (FOR) the protection of the ‘unborn’, it is (TO) take rights away for anyone that can get pregnant from having dominion over their bodies, banning books isn’t (FOR) protecting children it is (TO) stop those children from gaining information that they disagree with.
So everyone go out and lets all start reconciling the terms… Democrats are (FOR) change and progress, Republicans what (TO) take us back to the era of the robber barons.
Thanks again for putting up with my rant.
What’s the most money you’ve ever spent on a meal? Was it worth it?
I recall at Jazzfest in 2005 going to Emrils in New Orleans and ordering Blackened Sea Bass that was $85.00, honestly all I know is how much it cost don’t remember how it tasted … So the company I was with was enjoyable but the food wasn’t worth the cost .

Saw a bumper sticker this morning and it is one have seen many times but I am not sure if the person sporting it on their vehicle actually knows what their STICKER means.
The sticker (I HATE SOLICIALISM)
Here is a simple definition:
Socialism is a populist economic and political system based on collective, common, or public ownership of the means of production. Those means of production include the machinery, tools, and factories used to produce goods that aim to directly satisfy human needs.
Many see socialism and think communism and I can verify that because that is what a cashier at the grocery store said to me earlier today.
The main difference is that under communism, most property and economic resources are owned and controlled by the state (rather than individual citizens); under socialism, all citizens share equally in economic resources as allocated by a democratically-elected government.
We do not have either of these systems in the United States and no one not every Bernie Sanders is calling for a Socialist state. We do have social programs and our Constitution is in fact a social contract. If you read it the first three words are “We the People”. Hence, we are all in this together. Over the first nearly 250 years since the Declaration of Independence was signed, we haven’t always lived up to the WE part, as a collective there has always been an us and them but that’s not where I am going with this.
Our government has historically tired to unite, Lincoln with the Civil War, Theodore Roosevelt did his best to bring the dream of prosperity to the masses and even the playing field form the robber barrens of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, FDR brought the nation out of the depression and created a social safety net so seniors didn’t live in squaller in their golden years. These were all huge investments paid for by all to provide for all, although the ones that need it most also pay the lions share.
Social Security and Medicare are deduction that come out of every working persons pay and are in turn distributed to recipients who also paid into the system. It is not a discretionary line item in the budget or an entitlement, it is a paid benefit.
Let’s put this into a scenario everyone can understand. Let’s say you worked for the same company your entire working life . For your years of service you had a contract with said company that they took a small part of your check every pay period that when you retire would provide for you for the rest of your life. That would be a pretty good deal, right? Well, that is what Social Security is. Now let’s imagine that said company decides that they want to dissolve that contract but they still want to hold onto your money but they will invest it in the market so that their friends can make more money (hopefully) and they “promise” that you will still get your money back (Hopefully).
Sound like a great plan a guarantee to hopefully. That is the plan this current republican party is selling.
They brought a measure to the floor denouncing Socialism… what do they historically define a Socialism.
I could continue the list, but you see my point.
In their system the rich get to exploit and get richer, and the rest are left with HOPEFULLY.
Thanks for suffering through my repost…

At drippy Donald arraignment last week, he has specifically ordered not to try to intimidate any person that may be involved with this case. Donald appeared to agree with these conditions but no sooner than him leaving the courthouse he started posting on with 3rd rate social platform threatening Jack Smith and his former VP Mike Pence.
While I realize that his platform ‘Truth Social’ (still makes me laugh because there is not truth spouted in it) is not mainstream but his rabid lemmings do read it, and sadly these mental morons like to carry out what their messiah wants.
This again goes to our 2-tiered justice system… if anyone other than a rich white guy was perceived as a threat they would have been remanded to custody until their trial. If they were to be let go on their own recognizance and immediately violated the Judge’s order they would be locked up. That would be the case for anyone else, but we continue to let this wanna-be tyrant remain free and able to try and raise his militant supporters to fight his battles.
He should be locked up; he is a clear and present danger to any person that he feels is against him. I know he does not have a willingness or constitution to carry out any of his threats but like any mob boss he does not have to get his hand dirty, his followers will do his bidding. He needs to be put into a solitary cell with zero access to any media source and that location needs to be secret, a place where no one knows where he is until the trial starts. I don’t care one lick that he is running for office again… realistically he should be banned from ever hold public office again under the 14th amendment.
If this malignant narcissist is able to regain the Presidency our democratic experiment is over because he will declare himself supreme leader and order the military to put down anyone that opposes him. There will be nothing but state-run media just like Russia and China.
I don’t think that we have gone too far down the rabbit hole to turn back yet although we all need to be vigilant in order to keep this experiment going.
Thanks for reading my meltdown.
